Playful Learning Lab, The LEGO Foundation Launch “StoryCity”

In collaboration with The LEGO Foundation, the Playful Learning Lab launched the StoryCity project Wednesday.

StoryCity is a platform that compiles the stories told and communities built, asking how everyday materials can be transformed into neighborhoods and stories that come together to create one big mosaic of a shared, diverse city.

Kids and families from all over the world make buildings and communities and invent the stories that happen within them. Using the hashtag #StoryCity (or by submitting a story to the website), they can share the stories of their neighborhoods. Not sure where or how to get started? There are templates and prompts available on the website for creative inspiration. Who lives in your neighborhood? What style are the buildings? What is the weather like today? 

Continuing the Lab’s mission of “playful learning,” the project was made for self-isolating families to share in play together--helping kids to learn and grow through play, creation, and experimentation--and be connected to a broader collaborative community.
