SciGirls: Code Concert
The Playful Learning Lab partnered with PBS to create an episode of the television show SciGirls. In the episode, Lab members taught coding to three female students from Metro Deaf School using PLL’s software Code + Chords in order to create visuals that pair with music. At the end, the University of St. Thomas’s female a cappella ensemble, Cadenza, gave a concert using the students' visuals. The episode premiered in January 2020.

Playful Learning Lab and SciGirls were collaborating even before we became PLL! Dr. AnnMarie Thomas was a mentor for the "Puppet Power" episode of season 1. PLL alum Elena Ryan was even in SciGirls as a kid! She went on to go to the University of St. Thomas, join PLL and be on Code + Chords!
